Experiencing the Power of Praise Part 2

12/12/2010 13:50

·        Introduction

Praise is a God-giving weapon for our warfare

·         Praise is also our spiritual weapon for combat

·         Remember God is a Spirit and man also, since praise is a spiritual weapon then it is logical that we must be spiritual in order to engage in battles for cheap victory.

WHY IS PRAISE A SPRITUAL WEAPON? 2 COR 10:3-5, Eph 6: 11-18:

When you praise God, He takes over our battle. As spiritual beings we need no physical weapon to engage in combatant. In spiritual battles we no cutlass, guns, missiles and other deadly physical war gadgets.

As you praise God, He takes up your battle 2Chro 20:13-18. When the Israeli were engaged in battle with three powerful nations, they went not with any physical weapon but praise.

WHAT IS IN PRAISE?

1.    God Takes over your Battle: In praise, God takes over your battle. Praise transfers your battle to God Exo.15:3. God has never lost any battle, when He takes over your battle, no demon will defeat you. For instance, in physical wrestling battle, we have some contestants that come in group of two or three, when the current wrestler on the ring is tired, he transfers the battle to his colleague; in the same vein does praise transfer your battles to God Exo.14: 13, Psalm 68:1. One of the things that provoke God to arise is your praise Exo.15:11. Every Pharaoh that has been pursuing you must be drowned in the high red sea. One of our Sisters in the East was so industrious in her working place that her colleagues conspired against her and petitioned her to the management board and subsequently, a board meeting was convened to perhaps sack her but after engaging in praise the meeting turned in her favour and the sack meeting turned into a promotion meeting, and later all her conspirators were sacked.

2.    God Executes Vengeance Psalm 49:6, 94:1-3: In praise, God sets judgment upon our oppressors. God delights in taking vengeance in praise. In praise God enforces what is written and this is what is written:

a.    ‘suffer not a witch to live’

b.    ‘any weapon formed against you shall not prosper’

Praise provokes the vengeance of God towards our enemy. When you praise God, He steps down and when He steps down, vengeance is being delivered.

3.    God Brings Special Miracles: Certain miracles that your house cannot contain is brought by God in praises Ps 149:3. God comes down in praise to take charge in your battles that you cannot lead and bring special miracles. A firm was downsizing and a Sister was affected, consequently, management issued her a sack letter, she collected it and took it to God in praises, a 7-day praise – 2hrs per day – dancing around it for over two hours and she was called back to duty. It may look foolish but inside its foolishness lay the fullness of wonders.

Don’t mind the musical keys while singing, even if, you are singing off-key, you cannot praise off-key. God is the author of the whole keys. As you praise God today, so many miracles will be brought your way.

HOW DO I EXPERIENCE THE WONDERS IN PRAISE

1.    Have a Working Knowledge of the God you are Praising Dan 11:32: Until you know the God you are praising, there will be no result from your praises. When you see a wealthy man and you need anything from him, simply praise him and he will bless you. It is only whom you know well that you will praise well. When you know a man very well, you will know the right adjective to use in qualifying him in praise. No situation is bigger than God that you cannot praise Him Exo.23:11. If your situation is big, God is bigger, when it is mighty, God is mightier and remains the Almighty. When you don’t know the capacity of your God, you magnify your problem beyond God. David understood the bigness of God and he praised Him 7 times per day Psalm 46:1. The three Hebrew boys; Shedrack, Mishack and Abednego knew their God and they flouted the king’s order to praise and worship him instead of God, and God became the first man awaiting them in the fire before they were thrown into it, no doubt they were not burnt.

2.    Have Faith in God: After knowing the big God, have faith in Him. Anything that is done outside faith is a sin Heb. 11:6. Without faith in your praise in God, you are exercising your muscles. With faith, the Israeli ran round the wall of Jericho 7 times and it fell. Praise is the weapon for instant intervention. It provokes instant testimony in the lives of God’s people. In the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus gave thanks and he was raised from the dead. When Jesus praised God in the 5 loaves and 2 fishes, instantly it was multiplied. So praise is the weapon for instant intervention. I don’t know the problem that you have come here with, but as you praise God here today He will give you instant intervention.

“Remember, it is not the weapon that wins the war but the man”. It is your understanding of the working of the weapon that wins the war. As you have been exposed to the knowledge of the weapon of praise today, your situation is conquered. Hallelujah!

If you are not SAVED you are not SAFE

Have you ever asked Jesus to come into your heart? i.e. Are you BORN AGAIN?

If your answer is “NO”, or you are not sure, please pray this prayer with all sincerity and confidence:

Lord Jesus, I come to you today, I am a sinner, I cannot help myself. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with your precious blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan, to serve the living God. Today, Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord, and my Saviour. Thank you Jesus for saving me. Now I know, I am a child of God. I am born again. Amen!
